Welcome Amanda Blanc, Senior Advisor
Few people in the insurance industry have had such an illustrious career, and perhaps no other woman has wielded such far-reaching influence in one of the financial world’s most dynamic and complex industries.
I’m really pleased and honored to welcome Amanda Blanc to Trov’s team as Senior Advisor. Few people in the insurance industry have had such an illustrious career, and perhaps no other woman has wielded such far-reaching influence in one of the financial world’s most dynamic and complex industries.
Most recently, Amanda was the Chief Executive of Zurich Insurance Group, EMEA and Global Banking Partnerships comprised of 14 countries and over 40% of the group. She was responsible for $25 billion revenues, $2.5 billion underlying earnings, 20,000 employees and 33 million customers across property and casualty, life and bancassurance segments. In addition, she was the Chair of Zurich Insurance Plc, one of five ultra-high-risk companies registered in Ireland and was the most senior executive woman within the Zurich Group.
Amanda joined Zurich in 2018 from success at AXA Group where she was the Group Chief Executive of AXA UK, PPP & Ireland. She moved to AXA in 2011 from Towergate Insurance Brokers where she was Deputy Group Chief Executive, completing over 60 acquisitions at the consolidator. She has also held senior executive roles at Groupama Insurance Company Ltd and has enjoyed management responsibilities at Ernst & Young and Aviva plc.
Amanda has wide-ranging board experience having chaired many organizations, subsidiaries, and committees and sat on various regulated boards across Europe. She is the former Chair of the Association of British Insurers, a past President of the Chartered Insurance Institute, a former Chair of the Insurance Fraud Bureau, a previous Chair of the ABI’s General Insurance Committee, a past member of the UK Takeover Panel and the first Chair of a commercial insurance start-up, Eaton Gate.
Amanda is focused on the areas of innovation, digital, fintech, and big data; the customer; fraud, risk, and regulation; gender parity, diversity, and inclusion. She is known for her charismatic leadership and has been named Woman of Achievement by Women in the City, twice been voted the UK Insurer CEO’s CEO of the Year (2013 and 2015) and been included on the 2019 list of Yahoo Finance’s 100 Women Executives.
Today, Amanda is leveraging her massive experience and influence across a few choice positions including her recently announced appointments to the Boards of Directors of Aviva Insurance and specialty auto insurer ERS, where she’s set to become its chairperson in 2020.
Trov is the only global insurtech business for which Amanda will be an Advisor.
Amanda’s advice will be invaluable to both our Enterprise Applications and Mobility Insurance business units as she will focus on strategy, partnerships, and expansion opportunities. Amanda possesses a contagious enthusiasm that’s inspiring, a deep intellect steeped in experience, and she’s an empathetic, present listener who’s at once approachable and engaging; I’m genuinely looking forward to our collaboration.
