The Position

This is a senior role in a small team where you’ll be hands-on and lead by example, driving cross-team alignment on the UX vision. Champion overall design and direction for all digital products, integrating user research and visual design throughout the process. As a senior designer, you will be expected to foster a highly collaborative culture, and partner with Product, Engineering, Quality Assurance and a broad array of internal & external stakeholders. You’ll create applications that are simple to use, enjoyable, and tie an emotional connection with our users.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Drive the user first approach through UX strategy and design thinking.
  • Focus on UI and UX, understand how to gather product requirements, incorporate user
    research, frame the problem, focus on user needs, articulate a clear design direction, and
    propose/execute an effective solution
  • Translate the product roadmap into detailed requirements and prototypes, and then work
    with product owners, developers, and quality engineers to implement these features
    with craftsmanship and high quality 
  • Ensure communication throughout the development process between a variety of internal
    teams, ensuring that products satisfy user's needs
  • Work with, contribute to, and socialize a living style guide — bonus if you can code
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships which extend and enhance
    product functionality

You have/are:

  • User interface background, HTML, CSS. Experience creating elegant and intuitive user
    interfaces as graphic mockups and/or working prototypes
  • Portfolio of recent work with articulated goals and narrative accompanying design
    solutions
  • Projects specifically demonstrating experience building consumer web & enterprise
    applications
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering and transforming customer needs into an
    actionable product roadmap and requirement definitions
  • Inventive thinker with demonstrable experience and knowledge of the innovative solutions
    related to the blockchain product space
  • Solid grasp of the desktop, mobile web, social, and mobile related technologies
  • Excellent leadership skills, learning skills, analytic capabilities problem-solving, and
    meticulous attention to detail
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting to
    executive leadership
  • Experience creating simple and intuitive user interfaces with design and prototyping tools
    (such as Adobe CS/CC Suite, Sketch, Pixate, UXPin, Proto.io, etc.)
  • Experience working on agile teams
  • Experience using agile methodologies to deliver products and technologies is preferred
  • Understanding of interaction design patterns related to web and mobile design
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep
    understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.

This is a hands-on Role. It is designed to be an IC (individual contributor) and it is not required for direct people management but may require the direction and leading of the work product and artifacts of the design process. The design leads report directly to the senior product director and is part of the Product organization – based out of Danville, CA.
